Welcome to the BDCC Web Site

Berkhamsted is an old market town located in the Chiltern Hills in South West Hertfordshire.

It has a great deal of ancient architecture and cultural links. Thomas a Becket, Geoffrey Chaucer and the poet William Cowper all had links to the town and Graham Greene attended the private school where his father was Headmaster.

The Grand Union Canal runs through the heart of the town and the High Street is built upon Roman foundations.

Berkhamsted is a busy local centre. Despite its attractive rural setting in the heart of the Green Belt, it is only 35 minutes away from Euston. The town lies close to the M1 and M25 motorways and the fast A41 road connects it to Watford and Aylesbury. Luton and Heathrow Airports are a half-hour drive away.

The population of Berkhamsted continues to grow and it is characterised by a high proportion of high income families. The centre has an affluent catchment area, an attractive environment and a lively evening economy with high quality and personalised service in an historic setting.
