It gives us great pleasure to announce the winner of the 1st Berkhamsted & District Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Award is D-Lab!
D-Lab is a Berkhamsted based community resource providing meeting room, co-working studio spaces and open access workshops and hackspace including 3D printers and laser cutters. You can view their website here.
David Kirkland, Co-Founder and Managing Director, had this to say: “We are delighted to have been chosen by BDCC for this award. As a new company focusing on supporting the local creative community we feel energised and excited to know that we are on the right track making a meaningful impact. We look forward to the coming year where we hope to generate new connections and relationships to provide an even greater community asset.”
And following close behind D-Lab was runner-up: ADF Consultancy. Managed by Anna Foster.
ADF Consultancy provides project management, operational & digital consultancy and generally helps not-for-profits and small businesses get things done.
Owner Anna Foster had this to say: “”I am delighted and grateful that ADF Consultancy has come runner-up in the BDCC Business of the Year award – as a sole trader who loves her local area and community, it makes me very proud to be recognised in this way for my hard work across many different projects.”
What a night.
At our busiest AGM meeting in recent history, the Business of the Year Award took centre stage.
Committee Member & Award Organiser, Alex Thackray, had this to say: “The 1st ever BDCC business of the year award has been a great success. We received numerous entries from businesses across the region, all of an exceptional standard. It’s great to see how much good our members are doing for the local area and really strikes a chord with the main principles of the chamber. It was a difficult task choosing a winner, but the 4 judges voted unanimously in favour of D-Lab.”
He adds, “D-Lab are a young company in Berkhamsted, but it’s clear to see that both David and Linda are on a mission for good. Linda tells me of a recent event hosted at D-Lab that brought together 3 generations of the same family. That alone is a testament to great work they are doing. They thoroughly deserve Business Of The Year and who knows, with the plans they have in place for the next 12 months, let’s see if they can capture the award again.”
“I can’t not mention ADF Consultancy and the great work Anna is doing. With a focus on helping small businesses in the region and many projects working to conserve the heritage of the region, Anna is playing a pivotal role in driving forward the success of Berkhamsted & the wider district.”
Chairman, Pete Elsworth, added “We have had a fantastic response to the Business Of The Year Award, and being one of the judges I was touched at how our members are leading the way in the community. I’m proud to be chairing this group of selfless, charitable, and innovative members, and we look forward to next year to see what you guys have been doing over the course of the year.”
