Dear Members
Hopefully summer will be coming soon, but the wet weather did not deter many members who attended our annual barbecue, at the Berkhamsted Cricket Club on Wednesday June 12th. This became an indoor event, with excellent food from Rumbles, and Simon Double organised a well laid out dining area, tables, chairs, knives, forks, spoons and napkins!!! We initiated a charity raffle for those charity members present. There were two prizes; a crate of wine, and a bottle of champagne and £320 was raised which was donated to DENS.

CAR PARK – UPDATE

We have received an official communication from Dacorum Borough Council as follows:

At present the enabling works (utility diversions) are being addressed by the relevant utility companies. It is expected that the enabling works will be completed during May/June with a further update provided once the enabling works are complete. At this stage we cannot confirm an exact completion date.

This was issued on May 20th, we have not yet received an update.

There has also been a representation made to Berkhamsted Council by the BDCC on behalf of a local resident, who pointed out that although the new car park will have chargers for electric cars, they will be slow chargers only. On his recommendation we have asked the council to consider installing the latest rapid chargers, and an easy contactless payment method. We are waiting for an update.
