Charlotte works in The George Inn on the High Street in Berkhamsted, The George is a member of the Berkhamsted Chamber of Commerce. Here is what she had to say about her marathon and the reason why she is running for her chosen charity:

“Thanks for taking time to read my story. If you didn’t know already, this will be my 2nd Marathon. After completing the Brighton Marathon in September 2021, I just knew I had to keep going. I decided Berlin would be the chosen destination.

The marathon for me is not just about the running, but the money that is raised for charities globally. I can’t explain the feeling of being a part of such an awesome, exciting day. It is a total achievement before you even set off.

I started running in November 2019, joining a couch to 5k group to try and lose some baby weight. I quickly realised after entering lockdown in March 2020 running was my new therapy. I can’t explain the way it has changed my life; it sounds so cheesy, but it really has done wonders for my health, mind and body.

I am running the Berlin Marathon to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.

Prostate Cancer is not always life-threatening. But when it is, the earlier you catch it, the more likely it is to be cured. 1 in 8 men will get Prostate Cancer. If you’re over 50, or you’re black, or your dad or brother had it, you’re at even higher risk.

I am raising money to help them build a future where lives are not limited by prostate cancer.  Prostate Cancer UK work to stop prostate cancer being a killer. They work to stop prostate cancer damaging bodies and lives. They unite the brightest minds in science and healthcare and the most passionate and caring people to help men live long and live well.

Please help support me to raise as much money for a fantastic cause.

Donating through Just Giving is simple, fast and totally secure your details are safe they will never sell them or send unwanted emails, by giving to this page you are helping me meet my fundraising targets.

I promise not to let you down…follow my updates on Instagram and Facebook. The marathon is Sunday 25th September, Simon and Arthur will be there to support me all the way, but if anyone fancies a cheeky long weekend away, come along and watch this incredible event.

Much Love
