Now that the 2016/17 financial year is to an end, I want to welcome all of our members to the new financial year.

If you’ve recently become a member, welcome to the Berkhamsted & District Chamber of Commerce. If you’re an entrepreneur or business owner local to Berkhamsted and haven’t yet joined, there’s never been a better time.

We’re pleased to report that 2017 is off to an excellent start for our members. The Chamber is growing bigger and stronger, supporting the local business community in its usual ways, from regular networking events to expert seminars and free business advice. From accountants and web developers to shop owners and restaurateurs, we’re pleased to see our membership base diversifying – after all, business is about community.

A few of our highlights so far in 2017:

We hosted our Digital Marketing 101 with Committee member Alex Thackray leading an engaging and valued seminar on the principles of digital marketing.

Our member The Alford Arms hosted a very successful Sloe Gin competition…where I was very happy to accept the privilege of being a judge.

We have brought the BBL networking event under our responsibility, so we’re now finalising the details as to how we can offer this great event to our members.

And we’ve finalised our events calendar for 2017. It’s jam packed, and I’m sure we can deliver something that will benefit all our members.

Don’t forget, the Chamber is also heavily involved in the Young Enterprise Scheme, supporting local schools in the area and laying the groundwork for the businesses of tomorrow; something we’re proud to be continuing into 2017 and beyond.

My fondness, respect and admiration for this town is unwavering, and many of our members would tell you the same thing. Let’s continue working together to make our businesses  – and our town –  better through communication, shared wisdom and hard work.

Here’s to a healthy and prosperous start to the new financial year.
Warm regards,

Pete
